Welcome to Year 6 2024-2025
SATS
Year 6 SATS
The Year 6 children take part in SATS tests. The purpose of SATs is to measure your child's attainment in maths, reading, and grammar, punctuation and spelling (GPS). Your child will be tested on curriculum content from Years 3-6 across six test papers. Key dates: Monday 12th May 2025 GPS paper, Tuesday 13th May 2025 Reading paper, Wednesday 14th May 2025 Arithmetic and Reasoning Maths paper 2 and Thursday 11th May 2025 Reasoning Maths paper 3.
Homework in Year 6
Your child will be given weekly spelling homework. They will have a weekly talk homework to complete with you, this will support their weekly 'Write to the top' independent writing lesson. In Year 6, children will also bring home CGP books to complete Maths and Grammar homework, this will be set by the Teacher. You will recieve a school Ping with the page numbers and the children will also record these each week. At St George's Primary school, children read at home five times a week and in Year 6 we kindly ask that you sign your child's reading diary to show that they have met this.
Autumn term trip- we are excited to be going to Duxford in November 2025!
